Climate Innovation Centers: Advancing Innovation to Meet Climate and Development Challenges

This paper aims to highlight a specific institutional approach – Climate Innovation Centers (CICs) – as a way to more effectively advance and accelerate innovation in developing countries to meet these challenges. Accordingly it will discuss the rationale for CICs, outline the CIC model (including key elements and design issues), and to some extent, the relationship to the Climate Technology Center and Network described in the Cancun Decision.
